About this Event
The Cheshire and Warrington Business Growth Programme is hosting regular ‘lunch and learn’ webinars to offer support and advice to local businesses. Each session will focus on a different business topic and be led by a guest expert who will share their knowledge and top tips, then answer some of your questions.
Coronavirus and the Small Business ‘Triple Threat’, delivered by Robert Linford from Transition Law
An interesting and extremely important 45-minute session exploring three key legal concerns that small business owners need to be aware of, particularly during the Coronavirus crisis.
Robert Linford, Head of Practice at Transition Law, will take you through the following topics. Bring your questions for him!
- The safety of personal data (GDPR)
This section will include the basic data protection principles and incorporate the latest advice from the Regulator, such as staff working from home, maintaining the statutory time limits on responses and any leeway the Regulator is providing during the crisis. (NB: It’s not a lot!)
- Protection of your business in case of incapacitation (illness/hospitalisation)
Most business owners have little or no provision in place for themselves if they are not able to work, whether through accident or illness. This section gives a short run through of the rules on handing over the business operation using Lasting Powers of Attorney.
- The protection a Will can provide for both Business and Domestic issues
We know that statistically around 60% of all UK citizens never make a Will. Rarely are the consequences of dying without a Will understood and especially when people make assumptions about who will inherit, there are always problems and ‘disappointed beneficiaries’ to deal with.
