Our programme is designed to enable you to grow your business and develop your skills. It’s about understanding the priorities for your new venture and what steps you need to take to move to the next stage. Whilst the programme can support you with the ‘nuts and bolts’ of running a business, such as finance and marketing, there is also a focus on the softer skills such as the entrepreneurial mindset; leadership and management as well as networking opportunities to provide you with a holistic package of support.

The manner in which you will receive fully funded support will depend on your business needs but may include:

  • Networking opportunities
  • Signposting to further funding and support

Once your application has been received, the delivery team will contact you and complete a business diagnostic.  This will help to identify what type of support would most benefit your business and develop your own skills and capabilities.

Grant Scheme

The Cheshire and Warrington Business Growth Programme has recently expanded its offer and is now running a small grant scheme to reinforce its main business support programmes.    

The scheme is open to eligible SMEs with real growth potential via a separate application process.  This involves liaison with our Business Development staff to ensure the grant programme aligns with and is appropriate for both your proposal and company needs.

Applicants must meet a number of eligibility criteria including being registered onto the programme and have completed or be nearing completion of their 12+ hours of support.

  • Grants are available between £1,000 and £15,000; the average grant envisaged is circa £4,500. 
  • Businesses will be required to contribute 50% of total eligible costs.
  • New activities must support business growth and job creation in Cheshire and Warrington
  • Grants will be paid upon satisfactory completion of the agreed investment plan and providing the associated paperwork, including proof of payments

The Cheshire and Warrington Business Growth Programme is a consortium of North West based partners set up to deliver business growth activities across priority sectors from 2016-2023.

With a £3.85m investment of European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) matched by investment by the three partner Institutions, this innovative programme brings together three key business support providers across Cheshire and Warrington to offer businesses access to a variety of services.
